Dont know the 4.6 motor but supercharging yes. Definate yes. Either the Vortech S trim or maybe the Novi 1000 or 2000. I have the 2000 this will support 900 hp capable. Procharger makes a P1sc with intercooler. I've had all 3 at different times. (not the same car) Trying the Novi 2000 next for max power. By adjusting pulley size you can go mild to wild to where it might even split a block . I would try the Corral for more info on superchargers. Many debates on whether Nitrous, turbo or supercharger is better. They cover all the bases. Goodluck in Iraq and be safe and thankyou. Andel

Like he said try www.corral.net and do a search on there. There is soo much info about S/C and stroker motors itll keep you busy for hours. You deff. want to put more fuel in the motor to accomodate (sp) for the S/C. Good luck and thanx for surving.

First of all thanks. My gf drives a bossted cobra everyday, she runs a Novi 2000 with a max bosst of 14lbs on her stock 98 cobra, its had a s/c on ever since she bought it which was 2 yrs ago, she has 50,000 on th ecar now, and she recently just upped the boost to 14lbs, i think it would last a while as long as the bosst was kept at a moderate 8 lbs, i love superchargers. love the whine from them

What if you saved your money, then sold the 96 and bought a 03-04 when you got back?

If you need to rebuild you motor then it would be a good time to make it a stroker otherwise you should just run the stock motor, it should take quite a bit of abuse before you need to upgrade anything in the shortblock. The stroker kit increases bore size and stroke to increase displacement. I'd go with an intercooled blower setup, having the lower air charge temp the less likely you'll have detonation problems and you'll be able to run more boost on pump gas with the intercooler. The Procharger kit comes with an intercooler. You could make 500 rwhp with the right tune on the stock motor with a blower and that would give you enough power to run mid to low 11's. You might need to upgrade your clutch at that time too, I don't think the stock clutch would last too long at that power level. And if you're going to put slicks on it you're gonna want to get 31 spline axles and while you're working on the rear, I'd put a set of 4.10 gears in it. Have fun.
