I was just wondering, what the weight difference is between a 351w and a 460?

depends on what you're comparing.. the "Race" blocks are much heavier..

Not really looking to buy a band new block(too much money). I'm looking to either get a 460 out of the junk yard or buy one off of someone to rebuild. I heard there was a big weight differnce between the two and that you can create just about the same amount of horsepower out of the 351 as you can with the 460.

those links should give you the basic weight of the blocks though.
You can make a lot of power out of either depending on what you're doing.. but all things being equal you would probably end up with more with the big block, but like I said depends on what your doing.

Good luck

Thanks man. Eventually I would like to stroke it out and hit it with a bit of nitrous. Unless I go with a blower, which I think would be better. In the mean time I'm just going to pick up a 460 and rebuild it.

Doesn't really need to handle great if it's just going down the straight away.
