Really? Last I looked a Torino GT, numbers matching, was between $10 and $20k on the Collector Car Trader. The second they're not numbers matching, $1800-$3000. You know this is Ford's version of the Chevelle, right?
Mini Ford starters are $180 new so $90 was a good deal. I dont like playing "russian roulette" with starters from Discrap auto parts.

On the value thing...i'm not sure what a matching numbers 351 Cleveland Torino GT goes for but the big bucks are for the 429 SCJ cars. Its like the difference between a Chevelle SS 350 and a SS 454.

Well yeah, the Torino Cobra with the 429 is a bad mofo, but the 351 GT's are still worth money. I know for a fact that a 351 GT is worth more money with the original 351C engine in it than it is without, not matter how you look at it.

I also know that since I already own the 351C and do not own a 351W, that it's exponentially cheaper for me to keep the 351C in there. Since the 351C is already bolted in the car and the 351W (that I don't even own) is not, it's also exponentially less time consuming to keep the 351C. You guys are as bad as the Honda forum with engine swap suggestions in here!

What's wrong with Discount starters? I have one in my Chevy and it'll tow the car up the driveway in 1st gear if I have to.

I'm gonna hang onto it. It's not like a '71 is going to get worth less money over time, you know? Plus, my wife likes it and wants to drive it. It's the only way I've been able to get her to think about selling her Trans-Am.

Okay. For the rolling eyes I got I'd re-vote for stripping that rolling cinder block down, backhalving it for a tub job, put in a full pro-stock type cage, chuck that oily turd in the engine compartment off of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge hopefully hitting a Chinese merchant ship, toss all the interior pieces into a pile then setting it all on fire after dowsing them with gasoline, bolt the original rims up to walls on the front and back of the house to wind up the water hoses, cut off the glasspack mufflers and use them as windchimes on the porch, and now I'm out of ideas. Ah, let's rename the title of this thread "I'm one of you guys now........to an extent."

You think an engine / drivetrain swap is a "ton of work?" Looks like you have a lot more work ahead of you trying to get that rust stain off the front bumper and removing that hideous (just from looking at the pictures) window tint job.

Awsome you're keeping the car, but for value? C'mon! Value? So you intend this as an investment car instead of keeping it for the long haul and for the hobby of tinkering with them?

One of us? I say NOT! We MODIFY shit here. Irreversible mods rule! FXXX value.

Now go look for a set of Weld Prostars for that thing and make it look mean to save it from its dullness.

I still have a few Cleveland A/C brackets and pullies lying around if you need anything like that. Used to have a lot of Cleveland crap but I think that's all I have now. I'll look in the nooks and crannies to see if there is anything else.
