Default Swap Question

ive got a 93 lincoln towncar with the fuel injected sohc v-8. i'm tryin to sell it but before i do i was wondering if that motor in a fox body would be a do-able swap or if its even worth it? i just had the tranny built and im quite fond of fuel injection so i would like to use this setup if it can be done. ive done a good number of things with hondas and turbo dodges so i would say that ive got some skill and want to change it up a little. sorry if this is a dumb question but i never realy messed around with mustangs before.

Thanks Matt

yes it is possible to install that motor in a Fox body. i think you need a new K-member, one that is designed for a 4.6.

but that motor is only pushing about 195 HP. That motor has the crappy Non-NPI heads they are F1AE heads NPI heads are F5AE, that also has the all aluminum intake, it does not crack, but it is about 10 HP less than the NPI intake.

This swap can be done! You will have a world of time invested. The cost if you do everything yourself will probably be somewhere in the $2500 range for misc parts and a k-member. The motor you have is one of the lowest power 4.6's made. But think of it this way- if you do the swap for the 4.6 now it will make changing the 2V to a 4V motor later a lot easier...

if you want bang for the buck go with a 5.0. it is a lot cheaper to build power with a 5.0 than with a mod motor.

Agreed best bang is the 5.0 If you want to build something different and you have time and extra money go Modular. But if you do go modular don't waste your time with the 2V go right for the 4V.
