Man I dont know what to tell you on this. I run a spec stage 3 and shift at about 700 and make peak power at 6500 and haven't had any issues.

How much power at you making?

I would say double check and make sure it is fully engaged. Unless your at like 500rwhp++ I just don't see you over powering the clutch.

How is it adjusted? This can make or break a clutch's performance.

Though I'm not a fan of Spec clutches that stage 3 should hold your h/p easily.
I'm making 450ish to the tires w/spray, launch on the 2step at 5k and my NAPA remanufactured clutch holds fine and is smooth as butter in traffic.

Would I recommend you do this, NO. I wasn't planning on nitrous when I built my car it just happened. just saying I have a LOT LESS clutch w/ no issues.
A SPEC-3 SHOULD HOLD IF INSTALLED CORRECTLY

the clutch was installed by Boosted Performance. I planned on nitrous thats why i chose a stage 3, i mean i make right over 330 hp and 360 ft. lb. tq on pump gas but i only spray on 106 or better, and with 106 the car makes about 375 hp and right over 4oo ft lb tq. I'm presently using a 150 shot in the motor....runs fine as long as i dont power shift...
