Default What should I do?? Rebuild the original motor or replace it?

Are the #'s on the blocks in the car tied in anyway by the VIN? What I am getting at is should I have the original block stroked or work with a different block?
I have the original shortblock on a stand ready for a rip down. I also have a very low mile 89 block ready to roll on another stand that has been rip down and is ready for machine work. The other option is should I just buy a DSS or another aftermarket short block??
The car is a true 95 Cobra 1 of 1004 triple black...I am leaning towards the original block...

I also do not have the original transmission...

Being the perfectionist that I TRY to be..I would keep the original block.

my statement wasnt meant to insult you pat, dont take it that way. if your getting into this from an investment stand point and are either concerned about 1. what the next owner wants (who cares what they want), 2. how much it will be worth later(doesnt matter if your keeping it), then your doing it for the wrong reasons. IMO i would sit back and evaluate how long i planned on keeping the car, and what my goals were with it. being that the origional trans no longer exists, then keeping the origionality of a cobra is a moot point IMO especially considering you dont have the origional intake, its already modified what matters what block is in it. personally if i was going to buy a cobra, i would opt for one with a 347/larger over one with a 302 all things being equal. If its just something to flip on ebay or on here i would stop where you are and sell it now. if you want a bad ass street machine you plan to keep for a long time then i would get a short block dropped at my doorstep, it would be much cheaper than having one built almost %100 of the time.
