distributor problem
351c 4v
i have a MSD pro billet distributor
anyone have any problems with there distributor changing its mind on the advance, the springs are not stretched and everythig is in good shape (so it seems)
one second it idles fine and then after giving it throttle and letting off, it doesnt come all the way off advance.
for example (this is just an example i am not saying this is exactly what it does b\c its a lil different every time)
idle @ 1000rpms its initial timing is 6 deg
throttle to 3000rpms its full advance at 30 deg
let off throttle and idles high at say... 1300rpms @ 15deg
why isnt it dropping all the way back down to 1000rpms @6deg?
its not a fuel issue so its not a carb deal, its defintly a distributor problem, why is there lag in the dist. little extra play in the gear maybe, it plays some i dont know if it is enough to make that problem. its a new gear but maybe there is a defect, i have never encountered this problme before.
any constructive ideas?

#1 lol i dont have a choke
#2 i dont run a pcv
#3 i figured it out, i disassembled the distributor, cleaned it and greased the shaft and now it spins and works wonderful. but thanks for all of your suggestions, i think there was just some hard material in the shaft
