Default '01 Gt

I know this isn't really tech related but there was no where else to post. I am more than likely buying an '01 GT this weekend. Now coming from the nissan world I am not really with it as far as domestics go. I have a couple of questions for you guys. It has 50,000miles, owned by a lady, and she is asking $12,600. First of all, how bad of a price is that? Secondly, when I go to check it out, is there anything special I should look for? I'd appreciate your guys help/input. Thanks.

The price is a little high. Here is what kelly blue book says.. I used "Excellent" condition in my search but you should be paying about 9000-11000 depending on the condition. Hope things work out for ya!

"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete and verifiable service records. Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category.

Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.

KBB.com .....

As with all cars, they are worth what someone is willing to pay. If you are looking for that car specifically, do your research before you go down there. You can find information about similar cars in the Auto Trader, Mustang Trader, and Corral.net. They have large listings of similar cars and should be able to help you find the price range of that car.

Depending on condition 00-01 GT's can be had for around $10,000. If you found a really clean one then price probably around $12,000. It all depends on what you want to spend.

I'm hoping to not fill up that much. I really only drive about 5 miles to work and then back each day and then here and there. Usually take my g/f's car anywhere we go...easier on gas...lol.
