Exclamation c-clip eliminators leaking--Need Tech Help

Hey guys,

I am needing some help because my c-clip eliminators are leaking. (31 spline)
I have just pulled my axle out of the pass. side and now I am trying to figure out where the leaking could be coming from. This is my first time dealing with these c-clip elim's...

Let me know what kinds of seals should I use.

Not sure if I can just replace the o-ring or what to do next....

I have included some pictures that will hopefully help diagonose my problem.
As you will notice my drum is soaked and yes my brake shoes are backwards as well.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Guys!!!

i know a permanent solution to the leaking, find a 9" housing and cut off the axle tubes and then have them welded on you 8.8" to completely eliminate the c-clip eliminators. any car that sees regular street duty will have leaky c-clip's and they will just keep coming back over and over again.

Easy fix...... You take a bead of silicone and go around the seal, that bad thing, is that you might need to replace them. You could have gotten road grime in the seals, and it might have destroyed the seal. But if you clean them up real good, take a bead of silcone and go around the seal, let it set, and thats the fix. Also if your car is track only, how is it possible to get them to leak???? It seems like you werehitting the turnoff going over 40 mph, they move back and forth and thats what causes the leak. When your brakes heat up the heat transfers go to the seal, and they start to get hot and toasty, and dry rot, good luck and hope this was able to help.

So would I have to get it unpressed first from the axle to get to the front bearing?
Located in my first picture....

Or silicone the area in my second picture?

And do I need some kind of seal in the axle housing itself. Like it would if it were stock?

Thanks Guys!

Ok guys,

Since this whole c-clip thing is pressed on, I just dropped it off at True Performance in Sarasota to get a new seal kit pressed on. Hopefully I will be out this Friday night racing again.

Thanks for all of the help guys--But with out a press machine, my options seemed limited.
