You'll spend more on a head gasket if they do it correctly.

Thats a good deal except I'll need that put in as well. Thanks for the offer, I'll keep it in mind. You don't happen to have a 4wd tranny do you?

I have a 98 AWD Mountaineer trans and transfer case from a v8.
I also have the trans from the 2000 v6 cheap. You MAY be able to remove the tailshaft and bolt up the transfer case. If you think you could use anything just PM me.

if that explorer is the sohc then you have 3 timing chains (if your 2 wheel drive) and 4 if your 4 wheel drive. theres 2 in the front for the crank to idler idler to lt cam, then theres another one in the back from crank to rt cam thats right back as in rear of engine.. and the 4x4 is the only one that has the 4th timing chain which is the balance shaft chain. the entire motor has to come out. like said before if its the ohv motor your ok and its alot less work. so its pretty important to know which you have. i gots a 98 4x4 with the sohc motor.. good luck pimpin.
