i need help really badly. my car has been squeakin really bad so i was going to replace the ball joint this weekend because that is the first chancce i have to do it. when i was comin home from school today i noticed my passenger tire(same side as the ball joint) was completely f*cked up. there is about a 4 inch rip in the tire on the top near the outside. and i noticed a little hump on the inside of the top too. my alignment sucks too but i thought is was just because of the ball joint. the tire still has a decent amount of tread left on it i would say about 30% at least. i really need help quick. any comments are appreciated. i really have no clue what goin on with my car. thanks in advance

 

if the ball joint is bad it can cause the front tire to "scrub" the road surface and cause it to seperate the rubber from the radial lining...just had that problem on a customers car 2 weeks ago...

+1 for what Chad said. the bad ball joint cause your tire to wear funky and put too much stress on one side of the tire and cause the radial to separate from the steel belts. now you will be needing a new tire along with those ball joints.
