the block will not have a vin stamped in it, just part numbers. the only fords engines that had the vin, or partial vin are the K code 289 hi po, boss 302,boss 429,and boss 351.

That guy is full of crap....NO mustang made 435 HP stock with a 2 barrel. No Mustang Mach 1 ever came with a stock 2V either.

yes they did. the 69-70 mach 1 had a standard 250 hp 351w(69 c 70 ) 2v, and the 71-73's was a standard 302 2v. all other engines were optional.

My bad...i thought the 69 Mach 1 came with either 351 4v Windsor or 390 or 428's?

Boss 302 is a windsor block with Cleveland heads on it from the factory. The block has screw in freeze plugs like ALL boss blocks. He said the car was a '71 so it would be a Boss 351.

351c is a small block. the boss used cleveland type heads, water passages in different location. as stated it also has screw in freeze plugs and is the only 4 bolt main "w" engine from the factory.

Ok guys, I got around to taking some pictures today, didn't have time to look for any block numbers or head numbers. But my buddy says is dad has them written down somewhere. But heres the pics, theyre pretty massive. Also, sorry about them just being overviews, it was raining pretty hard and I took them quite fast. The first one is behind the carb from the side, if you couldn't tell. If anyone wants a specific picture, tell me and I'll get another one. Thanks to everyone whose trying to help me figure out what this is.
