Oh, yeah, don't forget, to set base timing on a mustang, you have to pull the SPOUT out. Its the Spark Output plug. Basically, if you remove the plug, it disconnects the EEC from controlling timing and thus, sets the distributor to base mechanical timing. The SPOUT is in the wiring harness coming off of the distributor, near the A/C compressor. Without removing the SPOUT, you'll never get base timing set correctly.
