Default Sad story...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3ASS%3AUS%3A1

This is pretty high on the list of the more crappy things I've heard.

Someone buy this car for more than they are asking, since I know all of you have a ton of extra money kicking around.

Man that sucks, too bad you didn't see this before you bought your car.

Damn, I haven't seen a Stang that clean since when I used to go to Golden Classics.

There are no bids. I have a love affair with first generation F-bodies, so I don't know what regular classic Mustang coupes go for, I know it's not as desirable as the fastbacks.
Anyone know what would be a reasonable appraisal of that car?

Well, Damn. That is one of the cars I was looking for before I bought my current project. Timing is everything.

Don't want to sound like an asshole, but people are known to make up sob stories to get more money out of a sale. If it is a true story, definately hope he gets what he needs out of it.

Isn't that the story YOU used to sell the Scion?
And what about," Someone please buy my 240 so I can pay for my chemo therapy!"

This is a car being sold in the Internet...more specifically on Ebay. Whether the story is true or not, Ebay is full of scams and bullshit stories. When I look for cars on Ebay I automatically suspect the person is full of shit, until proven otherwise. Same can be said for any used car salesman or even someone on TR. While I feel for their tragedy, it honestly does not effect my car buying decision. Cold hearted? Maybe. Not looking to get ripped off because I was blinded by a story of another person's tragedy? Damn right.

The car seems priced fairly, and the seller has good feedback. I wouldn't buy a car just because of some sob story - I just thought it was a sad story - knowing how we all love cars, it should kind of hit home for everyone. Imagine your kid not coming home from war, then having to sell the car that you built with him... I would be the opposite - I wouldn't want to sell it, but I can see how it could go the other way too.
