You'll need the rack and the shaft that goes from the steering column to the rack (its longer on the manual rack so your power one won't work). If you're using a Ford manual rack, you'll also need outer tie rods from a manual steering car.

????????
what lower shaft? the rag joint, or coupler, connects directly to the rack. mabey i'm not understanding what your saying. i did this conversion and all thats needed is the man rag joint because the splines are different.

Just to be sure for future reference the Flaming River part number for that shaft is FR1604 or 1604 ,correct?

OK, we're on the same page now. I was saying you need to run the lower shaft from a manual car, which is what you're saying. You can either run the stock one or the flaming river one, but you must run something different than the power steering lower shaft.
While we're on the subject. I had the rubber rag joint crap out on my car. Instead of replacing it, I bolted the upper and lower steering shafts together. Everyone said the vibrations would suck but they do not. Steering feels much more positive and firm. It feels great even wiith 245/45/17's all the way around. The only downside is of course now the steering wheel is 90 degrees out, but I wanted to verify I liked it before fixing it so while I've got it apart I'll cut the end and reweld it on or put a coupler in there.
