Default How are these installed?

Looking into a few Crown Vics which unfortunately have these gaudy chrome fender treatments. The dealer says they are "riveted" on. I have a hard time believing these are actually rivited thru the sheet metal. Are these clamped from the back? How do are these typically installed? If one were to remove these, what "suprises" would one find underneath?

Thanks for the help.

did you ask on CVN? im sure some one there knows how. On the 79-91 the chrome fender trim is screwed onto the underside of the fender well, as for the newer ones i dont know my 97 just has the stamped fender lip.

Trying to get in there now, but their site is running super slow tonight. Hoping to get some answers soon as I think I want to bid on this car IF I can remove these without leaving holes in the durn sheetmetal.
