hey i have some question about tweecers.

how well will it work with a mild motor, and how well will it work with nitrous?
how do you change the parameters?
just lookin for some general info all the help will be greatly appreciated

I think it's a great little gadget. I don't know squat about EFI but I'm learning as I learn the Tweecer. Like Dave said, it won't make all that much difference on an stock motor or a mild motor, however it would give you the ability to increase gas mileage and power even on the stocker which is setup to run a little on the rich side and idle on the lean side. you can program in 4 different tunes and even switch from one to another on the fly. You couold set up one for high mileage on the highway, maximum power at the strip without concerns for idle and driveability. You can set up another one for "valet mode where the car will not go over any speed of your choosing (for those nasty untrustworthy guys at the shop who are working on your hotrod ) and even one for for anti-theft wher the damn thing won't run at all until you tell it to.

f perchance someday you changed your mind and went all out performance, it can handle that too very nicely.

It plugs into the J3 port on your ECU and stays onboard for the duration. You program the parameters with a laptop as stated above or you can even unplug it and take it inside to your PC and program your changes in the air conditioned comfort of your den or office. You can also datalog up to 16 parameters at once and play it back and analyze what's going on at any given time. All in all, it's a great little gaget. BUT, it is a very powerful tool and you can screw up your car so badly that your neighbor's dog will bleed. If you're starting from scratch like I did, just go slow and hang out in the support forums. If you have a good grasp on the workings of the
ford ECU and EFI in general, you can hit the ground running and have things humming in no time. I'm going slow and ahven't really done much of anything with WOT tuning except to get the AFR out of the sub 10's and crank the max timing at OWT to 19 just to be safe while I'm fooling around. My main focus has been on driveability...smooth idle, gas mileage and all the little things that go with it. Ask some of the people who have ridden in my car about the driveability. I think most were disappointed because it didn't feel like a turbo car but a stocker...until I stood on it.

A chip is the easy way to go but you will have to send it in or go back to your tuner every time you make a change. With the Tweecer, you can do it yourself if you want. I had a JMS chip in my last car which ran 11 flat with a Vortech S-trim. For the most part, I was happy with it but there were a few little driveability problems that I had to put up with. I sent the chip in to Tweecer and they did a binary dump on it. I was amazed at how very little JMS did for my money when I saw it. Bottom line, if you like to tinker, it's a really cool gaget to do it with. If you want plug and play, go with a chip.

thanks for the help, i thinkin about a tweecer cuz i'm in the middle of a motor build right now, so i think it will be useful later, i hate plug an play, too much bs, i like to tinker
