Rack and Pinion?
Ok what I need to know is why won't a rack and pinion from a fox body mustang fit an SN95? I talked to someone who said that it could be used if you used the a bump steer kit for an SN95. Would I just be able to put my tie rod ends on the 93 rack and it work? What is the advantage of a bump steer kit, I dont really understand what it does. I'm guessing that because I would need to use a bump steer kit for a 94 and up, that its just the tie rod ends that are different and if so I am just going to buy a bare manuial rack and pinion and throw my tie rod ends on it, unless a bump steer kit is worth it and necessary.

I think its because the inner tie rods (what your outer tie rods thread into) is wider than a fix due to the increased width of the SN-95 cars. As far as I know the mounting and cast housings are the same. I'm not sure if you can thread the outer tie rods far enough onto the wider rack to fit your steering geometry. You may be able to cut some of the threads off of the rack to narrow it, but I'm not sure if you'd have enough threads left to adjust the geometry

Well what im trying to do is put a rack from a 93 on my 95. So its makes sense that the 93 is to narrow. I should probably just get the bump steer kit to be safe but what does it really do?

first off the sn95 rack should be metric thread and the fox is standard ,im not shure about width. Bump steer is the change in toe when the suspension travels in an arc. The kit allows you to be able to change the mounting point up or down on the spindle to get the least amount of change with suspension movement.
