Default motor upgrade

i own a 96 ford cobra with your every day bolt ons. i will be returning from iraq and when i do i of course i will have a bundle of money to blow on my car. i was wondering if i could have some input on what i should do. should i go and buy whole new motor(crate engine) or should i use existing motor and work with that. which would be cheaper. i want to be pushing more than 400hp. i just dont know if i keep my motor were to start and if it would be cheaper to buy pre built ready to go motor. also what about super charging? thanks look forward to start coming to meets with every one

though for me, you'd have to change it to 10 inches, and you'd have to change inches to millimeters, and you'd have to change 10 to 5 and you'd have to change dick to poor excuse for one.

get a power adder of your choice...turbo or supercharger or even NOS. If I had a large amount of cash I would just sell the 96 and get a 03-04 Cobra.

buy a supercharger and put about 8-10psi and with the right bol-ons to go with it will make well over 400rwhp. you could spend under 6k and get your results.

I agree with him....you can have 400hp+ from those cars with minor thing like different pully, cai, exhaust, and chip.

Don't get a new cobra then you have to worry about higher car payments and higher insurance. A vortech S-trim 8# will get you 400rwhp with a safe tune on your 96. Anything higher on those hypereutectic(aka hypercrap) pistons and you're asking for trouble. But if you forge the bottom end you can get boost happy and get easily in the 500's. But then the next thing to go would be the tranny, that is if you give it hell all the time. -Mark
