Counterclockwise?
I am online ordering my waterpump and hardware when i noticed that there are Clockwise/Counterclockwise waterpumps.... I am ordering from summit so i figured i would call them and ask what they reccomend. The tech guy said counterclockwise however they only offer 1 counter for my 351W. They also ask the Pilot Diameter -5/8 or 3/4. I wanted to get a second opinion on this so feel free to throw one out there.

You may want to talk to foxbodypat about the waterpump issue on the 351. He just went through this scenario when he deleted his a/c and power steering system off his car. He bought an Edelbrock pump and has the correct rotation.

It depends on whether you are running serpentine belts or V-belts. V-belts get a clockwise pump, serpentine gets counter-clockwise. The pilot diameter refers to the "tit" on the end of the shaft where your fan bolts on. If you don't have the fan yet or are running electric, it doesn't matter.

Can you enlighten me of the pro's and con's of Serpentine vs V-Belt?

To me its a taste thing.............. If your going to use a stock setup I would say serpentine. But if you get a "March" pulley setup going you can do v belt or serp and still look good. I prefer the serp belt, but others like the v belts.

I will never own a car with V-belts ever again. After screwing with them on my old air-cooled VW and with my friends El Camino that goes to 7200 RPM, they are a pain in the ass to keep on the pulleys. The El Camino will flip the belts upside down and then shred them.
