vibration while stopped
alright, here's the rundown... 95 ford contour GL, 2 liter zetec 4 cyl. auto tranny. while driving there's not even a hint of vibration, drives smooth. when i come to a complete stop, the whole car (especially the dashboard and the steering wheel) starts to vibrate.
i can't really get my head around what the issue could be, though i'm leaning towards one of the engine or transmission mounts or something could need replacing. any ideas?

ok it only does it while in drive. in any other gear it doesn't vibrate, which leads me to believe it's something with the transmission? maybe? i haven't been able to get someone to look under the hood while it's shaking (and i can't very well do it myself... being in drive and all... stupid automatics), i'll have someone do that tonight and hopefully that'll narrow things down some.

pull the e-brake. then get out and look, grow some pelotas
something in the tranny might be unbalanced now............... like your flexplate. Some production flexplates have a tack-welded on weight to balance the flexplate and it can come off. Or the same goes for your torque converter........ Just throw some dirt on it.
