Supercharging question
After much research I am unable to come to a black and white conclusion. Is it possible to supercharge a carburated engine? Specifically, I'd like to know wether or not it is possible to apply a twin-screw style supercharger to a carburated engine, and if it is if their is a manufacturer that produces one that I could look into using. I have a 1982 Mustang GT and only became curious after looking into how well these types of applications to do on the Cobra models. Mostly it's a curiosity and something I'd only have to worry about in the future but I'd like to get the question out of the way.
well, twin screws have been around for a long time with carbs mounted on top of them. I would recommend going with a Procharger Blowthrough setup. Much more efficient and more power.

Some people prefer the mad max look, but if you want reliability and more efficient power go with a Procharger type setup. I know Procharger makes a blowthrough setup, Paxton does, not sure who else.

Thanks for the help all. I guess now I have one more thing to ask. The Procharger blowthrough set up uses a centrifugal supercharger, yes? I asked about the twin screw design is because I researched both centrifugal and positive displacement superchargers and loved the idea of power with instant throttle response. Will the blow through set up do the same thing? If not, why so many reccommendations towards this particular set up instead?
