Tach rises while engine off?
Anyone ever seen this with an autometer tach?. Engine off, ignition on, the needle slowly rises. Am I missing something here? Green to coil (-), red to +12v. Black to ground , white to dash lamps...

its because of the air core in the autometer tachs. when the electrical pulse is taken away when the car is turned off, it has nothing to keep it at the bottom
there is no physical part to keep it where it sits, or force it back to zero when power is removed
the reason autometer uses air core is because its extremly responsive
