Scott, you don't know how close you are man..
Plan is either to make it an Fuel injected turbo'd 351..
It'll be something new for me and a fun challenge to take on..
Thought about the 4v cobra motor as well, I've seen that done and the amount of fabrication to get that beast in there was large (they did an IRS in it as well).
It's going to be a long term project, but it'll be worth it at the end..

Flastangs,
I found it online after one deal falling through, the cars are out there but due to their popularity be prepared to pay. I got this one in Vegas, getting it shipped back (cost about 1k). Been a desert car all it's life so it hasn't been exposed to the salt, etc that most eastern cars see. You can find them from 4k on up, depends on the amount of work you're willing to put into it. I paid 6500 for this one, which all things considered was a great deal...

I think they'd be confused already when they saw a turbo'd 70 fastback...

it was originally yellow, but the previous owner painted it a reddish maroon.. it'll be changing when I get it.. going to be a resto-mod, not a frame off restore (I want to have fun with it!).

not sure if I'm going to get the T56 or a TKO600 to handle the torque, depends on the coin when it comes down to it.. It'll have beefy brakes, probably a 17" wheel (depends on what an 18" looks like, but I think they look too big for that style car).

It'll be a fun ride on the road, probably not a true "g machine" as some are suggesting, but close..
