Default Riddle me this....

Is a daily driveable 12 second mustang a reality?

Ive got a 96GT with the mods in the sig, right now it runs in the mid 14s (it is basically stock) and it gets me where i need to go in basic comfort. My question is is there anything i can do to get into the 12 second zone (i dont care if its a 12.999 as long as i see that "12" up there) without nitrous, forced induction, or the headswap and still keep it daily drivable (I.E. no crazy tranmissions, insane gear sets, or colon punishing suspensions)

is it possible? if not, what is the most realistic goal for it?

The easiest way is just add nitrous...same driveability and flip the switch...12's

There are plenty of 12 sec NA cars out there. As far as a drag suspension, it will be quite the opposite of "colon punishing."

Look at it like this: You will need slicks and 260 rwhp, or radials and 280 (average driver). You will have to ditch some weight too. That's about as simply as it can be said.

hmmmm, sounds almost.......too easy

but there enlies my problem, im pushing 200.9 (exactly) to the wheels right now, where am i going to pick up another 60 horses staying n/a, and without the PI heads? I know theres longtubes, the pullies, tb, plenum, MAF, and a little tweaking to the chip i have, but is all that really worth 60 ponies?

The easy part is using your credit card for the mods.

Those bolt-ons alone will not get you where you want to be NA. You will pretty much have to put the PI heads/cams/intake on to reach your goal. That and the bolt ons can get you there.

It will be hard to do it n/a. It will take 280-300 rwhp with the average driver in a FULL WEIGHT car. A PI headed car bolt-ons with 3.73's won't do it unless you loose alot of weight. If you don't mind ported heads, bigger cams, bullitt intake, and some dyno time, you'll be where you want.

Or slap on a 100 shot and call it done? Like someone ^ wrote earlier, only use it when you need it. When used correctly it's safe.

There are many roads to low e.t.'s. You just have to pick one, some are shorter like Nitrous, others are longer like bolt ons and mods like porting heads. If you don't want to put the time in to get it right just slap on a 100 shot and be done with it. You will have a 12 second car with push button horsepower. I'm not a fan of Nitrous but its damn effective.
