There are faster ways of doing it yes. But you have to have a few special tools....

 

Yup, the way I described is if you're doing this at home with common tools. With the timing chain mentioned that reminds me that it wouldn't hurt to throw in a nice double roller. Not necessary, but saves time, money, and labor down the road.
