Default Cooling Question.........

Ok....... I do not want to run a straight drive fan. I want to run an electric fan. Can the 5.0 black magic fan cool 500+hp? What are your suggestions on how to cool this damn beast? I already have a 3 row alum radiator to mount in front of it. Any suggestions welcome..... unless your suggesting that I use a clutch fan.

A Lincoln MK VIII fan should do it nicely. You'll need a 130 amp alternator to feed it though.

Do the 130amp alternator upgrade before going to ANY electrical fan. I'm running a Ramcharger dual fan setup on my '88 GT. The 130amp I have puts out plenty of juice, but what's left of the old original stock alternator wiring is hampering charging efforts. I need better wiring. Be sure to upgrade the wiring in yours, too.

If you still run the factory alternator bracket you'll need to clearance the bracket for the larger 3G housing.

The alt bracket has already been notched even with the stock alternator. I think the genious that took out the T5 and put in an AOD also went back to a stock alternator. I already have the 3g alt and premium wire kit from PA-Performance. Just needed a fan. Does that fan come with a built in sensor or do i have to wire up a stand alone switch? How much hp can they cool? What year Lincoln MK VIII fan am I hunting?

Think that fan I bought from you would work for him? I'm not going to use it, bought a new fan temp control thing as well.
