Default Need some tech advice

The 351w is done. I am starting on the car to get it ready. I am putting a TKO 600 behind it because an AOD and a T5 won't last the trip down the street. Can I get a good enough regulator to take the fuel PSI's down to about 9psi on a stock Fuel Injection pump? Or do I need to just pop in an 85 tank with sending unit and re-run the fule line so it does not have a return line? has anyone done this before? If so please let me know so I can pick your brain. I have some harness questions too.

Dont waste your time with an 85 older tank, the fuel pickup in those things is a coffee straw. Either sump a late model tank and use decent size fuel lines, or if the car is serious enough use a fuel cell. Either way, any carbed car should run fuel lines that carry good volume and a pump that is designated for use with a carb, low pressure but high volume. What pump and what size lines will depend mostly a whole lot on your intended use for the car and its power output esp if nitrous is involved. Fuel injection stuff modified to work for a carb is just the wrong approach IMO but I would def run an electric fuel pump mounted somewhere close to the tank instead of a mechanical pump.

I planned on using the complete kit that summit sells that comes with the elec pump, fuel line and regulator. I just want to get away from the damn return line. I didn;t know If I need a new pickup for the tank. Any suggestions on how to bypass the return line?

add the return now or you be in the same boat i am, getting ready to put a return on your tank. i bet its easier the first time.

without the return the pressure creeps up and up slowly. mine starts at 6.5 psi and get to about 9.5 by the end of the day.

it already has the stock plumbing, which has the return line. Should I use the holley blue or red pump?
