86-93 mustang question
Ok, im looking at this mustang not sure of the year since I havnt stopped by yet to talk to the guy but its an 86-93 model GT with t-tops. Now is it worth keeping the 302 in it and just build it up and then throw on the vortex charger? Or is it better to get a 351W and build that up then charge that or turbo it?

I would VorteX it...It depends what type of power your trying to make and what your wallets looking like, you can get more from a 351W. If you wanna make a shit load of hp your gonna have to change the block anyway so a Windsor would be a good option.
planning for about 400-450....dont want it to be a full track car want it to still be street legal...only to drive it once every so often. Its a project car...well wallet is going to be fairly large...just over a little bit of time. Seeing as I have about 1300$ extra cash a month after everything money wont be much of a issue I plan on it taking roughly until first of next yr to be complete but im stuck on the motor of how far is to far and what I really want. Looking to hit low 12's high 11's.

Actually, you mean put a vortech on it. And the 302 is a windsor block as well. Alot of people say you can get more from a 351, however it is not always true, yes there is no replacement for displacement, but if you really want to spend some money get in touch with bennet racing they can build you a 317 ci that will be set up for a power adder, in the upward range of 1000 horsepower, it can be done, because of the limitation of block requirements for certain classes, sure that block will cost you in the range of 8-10 thousand dollars, but it will deliver the power. The car your talking about has to be in the time era of 86-88. the 86 is a four eyed fox, being they have 4 headlights, 87-88 went to the new design, however T tops are as rare as a pink elephant for anything above 88. Anyway, build the 302 up and add a super or turbo charger. Unless you have tons of money to dump into it. good luck

I know its that year body style just not sure of the yr as I havnt stopped yet to talk to the guy I cant see the fron because its ass back to the street. But from what I can see its got the new style lights on it. Not sure if its running or not but will find out doesnt matter to me cause the motor is gonna get pulled and built if I keep the 302 in it.
