Hey Guys.

Well im looking to get back in the Ford Family. Heres the deal, found a 1984 Mustang w/ a 302, 5.0 h.o. in it.. Has common bolt ons like a Holley Carb/Accel Super Coil/Headers/true 3 in. exhaust. Its a Automatic tanny

Exterior:
exterior has been resprayed. The ruber moldings are falling off but can be easly fixed, front bumper cover is showing the cheap repaint and cracking paint.

The problems:

While driving i tap the gas and hear a noise almost like spark nock or posible detination, i have been told its cause it may have shit gas and only 87 octane,also the car was on E.. any ideas on this..

Interior:
Shows common wear for a 21 year old car, cracked dash etc.. seats are not ripped but can use a good cleaning


What ya guys think its worth? i can pick it up for 1139.00 out the door, im gonna make an attempt of throwing 900 cash on the table, im not to keen on paying a 200.00 dealer fee, for a car that didnt even get cleaned!!!!!

What are you goals with the car if you buy it? I base price off of that. What is it worth to you in other words.

 

my goals for any car i own is to have fun in it.. But i will also need it for school and work so it would have to be reliable.. which this 5.0 is good in a way, since Cophers is flooded with them and everyone on her has extra parts, unlike my nissan..

 

I dunno, I'd second the opinion that offering $750 or so is a good idea. Since it's an auto and would need paint, I'd probably pass on it myself.

How do i know if its a LX or GT? sorry guys i dont know my mustangs that well.

How hard is it to do a timing chain on a 5.0?

 

it will be a hatchback and it will have fog lights up front. if it's not a Gt and it is in poor shape offer $500 buy for $800. if it's a Gt then it is a cool ass car worthy of a restore.
