i believe the PI intake on a NPI motor is good for about 10-15HP a whole PI conversion is good for about 50HP

yeah it cracked on the crossover, about 4 inches long right up behind the alt bracket, i wanted to go with heads also but it looks like im just gonna go for the pi intake, but im still not sure as far as everything involved, have any of you done this before ?

i have also heard the recall is up, i think like 7 years after the original recall, so im not positive that ford will still replace, but i think i want pi, stangerang you have a pm...

The updated one has an aluminum crossover section instead of plastic. I just did one the other day, the Ford dealer WOULD NOT warranty it, so the customer had to buy the new updated one and all that mess. There was about 1 1/2 gallons of coolant under that manifold too .

yeah i rented a u haul trailer and towed it home, bought a new manifold with alum crossover and im in the process of taking everything off in the time i have btween work school and it getting dark so early. hopefully my alternator still works, it got pretty soaked, i also had about a gallon of coolant resting on top of the block. its going to take me forever to try and clean everything up. i originally thought it was a smaller crack which is why you said duct tape, turns out its about a 5-6 inch long crack along the length of the crossover. i dont think it would have held very long. i went with non pi for simplicity this time, and i should be back on the road by this weekend.

the coil packs have a tendency to get destroyed when the manifold goes also

try using a shop vac in the coolant neck works really well and dont forget to rinse the vac with clean water afterwards lil tip even ford doesnt clue you into---do it about 15 times a week at work and I pick up 15 gallons from each 3126 Cat's (diesel). shop vac is still humming so it doesnt harm it.just suck up some fresh water afterwards.
