I know personally someone that has split 3 blocks and all of them have started at the mains and worked their way up to the lifter valley and 2 of them didn't make it all the way to the lifter valley. I like to beleive the theory that the block cracks because the main caps "walk" under high load situations, and that causes the cracks to start in that area. I have never seen a block that was cracked in the valley and not in the main area but all that I have seen have been split in the the mains and some did not even make it to the lifter valley.

LOL, thats who I was refering to. He is the one that showed me this new girdle and he using it on his new motor. All of the blocks he has cracked have started at the mains, I just spoke to him about this recently.

It might only last for one hell mary pass on the spray if it comes down to it. I know I'm sick but I'll be mighty proud if I can pull it off.

We can both make a 9 second pass down the track, you succeed I'll shake your hand and say good job. Then I'll go make a few more 9 second passes...

Listening to Briane here is motivating me on doing this.i can get a used block i want to do a 331 streker kit on it but would that girdle really help if i end up doing a supercharger set on it,how much power does the block usually hold befor eit goes well with that girdle
