Foxbody Brake Booster replacement
Need to order one of these shortly so I can start reassembling a few things on the '89 in the next month. The one I took out looks to be the original from 1989 so I am hesitant about reusing it.
Who makes a good replacement? Should I just order one from Ford (if they even still make these) or would I be okay with a remanufactured unit from somewhere like NAPA? Just need a replacement that will hold up as long as the factory unit.

Bendix makes the Ford peices, I used one from a SN95 when I did my 4 disk conversion along with the SN95 master on my 91, which I ordered at Advance, it works fine, as of yet. the bendix peices are more money but less than Ford.

Alan, did you go with rear disc as well? If so, the popular thing to do is to upgrade the booster to an SN95 unit. I didnt do this yet on my car and the brakes seem to run out of vac after a few seconds. No big deal really, but it requires me to vary the amount of pressure I apply on the brakes to get the same stopping force. Check out this site - it has pretty much everything you need to know:

The V6 SN95 unit is a cheap upgrade for the disk brake cars. I also believe its smaller as well, another plus.
With that being said, I'm also running the stock booster and haven't had any issues. But if I were buying a new one, I'd buy the SN 95 unit.

Jeff...it will have 4-wheel disks. If all goes well the car will be sporting a complete Cobra IRS w/brakes. I'm going to go with the SN95 master cylinder, so I guess the SN95 upgrade would be something I need to look into.
With the exception of slotting one of the holes in the firewall for the SN95 booster, it is pretty much a bolt-in operation, right? I've read through that site hundreds of times, but I still like to get feedback from those who have done it locally.
