Tremec set up
a clutch is the useless peice of material that folds under aftermarket pressure. something that slows shifting down and leaves more room for driver error.
i.e. a hole that you throw money at continually.
now that we cleared that up does anyone know what a stall converter is?

Sorry, I don't want to drive around with either a tranny that is strong without overdrive with a huge stall or a weak aod that could break. The only aod's that don't break with 400-500hp are lentech's and other solidly build ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$) ones.
5spd is way more streetable hands down and a whole lot more fun to drive on a daily basis.

bullshit my art carr will handle 800hp just fine.
i agree but try to manually shift a car with some power then do it with a nice AOD or C4 then you will see the light grasshopper. i was a hard core clutch guy not to long ago either then i got some power lunched a few t-5's,a brand new spec clutch, and broke a bell housing straight down the middle shot my starter down ulmerton and shredded my back tires fron the debris. so you can say i have been informed of my options and choose the best one.

How much did that aod cost you? I had the option to buy a c4, manual valve body, 3500 stall, etc, but I didn't want to cruise around at 2500rpms at 45mph. The auto would cost me so fucking much more money it wasn't and probably won't be an option for a long time, unless I decide to make this a race car.
How long have you had this auto, how often do you drive it?

the AOD cost me $1000 and my t-5 stuff it came from blue oval with a fresh rebuild. it has a reverse manual valve body, a trans. brake, overdrive still works hardened one peice input shaft and a 4200 stall. and i will never need to buy another transmission what a deal. i have a '66 stang and a '91 like a 'tard they are both my drivers i drive one when the other is broke.

$1000 for the tranny when you gave him $500 worth of stuff, and I'm assuming you put it all in yourself, but I wouldn't. So it would have costed me around $2,000 to do what you did. If I had that money, I would have bought a tko 600.
