Default head leaking coolant?

Ive had a coolant leak ever since i put the top half of the motor back together. Ive just thought it was a heater core line or something in that area that was just pissing out whenever the rpms reach above 3k. ne ways i changed the heater core lines today since the coolant trail is going down the bellhousing. i asked a buddy of mine to come over and rev the car up to 4k for me to check out if theres ne more leaks. i saw that the passenger side head cyl #4 right by the last head bolt is PIssing out a good amount of coolant and is steaming from contact with the header. I used teflon when i put the head bolts in. brand new arp bolts. wtf. i guess it didnt seal right or i didnt get enough teflon on that last head bolt? i just dont understand why coolant it all the way on top of the bellhousing from a leak that is happening all the way down by the header. is this an easy fix where i just pull the vavle cover and header and re torque the head bolt? or am i looking at something thats gonna make me angry
feel free to chim in ur ideas.

thanks in advanced
david

There's a locating dowel right there. Could be you got it in a little crooked and it's not pulling the head down all the way. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.

Did you put sealant on all the lower head bolts? They all enter water cells.

Well ive pulled them twice in the last 3 months. i remeber the frist time the dowel came out and i had to add another one to the block to get the head seated right. im almost possitive we did it rite this time too. and yes i used teflon on every head bolt. is this something i should pull the head for? is it serious, can ne damage happen to the head itself from a coolant leak? im gonna try getting to the head bolt and backing it out, reteflon it and torque it back down and see what happends from there. if it still leaks so be it .. im not pulling that bitch again.

Use thread sealant, not teflon tape. Comes in a tube.

There ya go!! It's the repellant part...it's repelling the water right out onto the ground. I'd still suspect the dowels being wopper jawed in there. There's not a whole lot of gasket material in that area so it doesn't take much of a gap to leak. Dumb question but I'll ask anyway. Did you use an good torque wrench to torq down the heads? What torq numbers did you use?

Those numbers should work. You can try resealing the one bolt. If that doesn't work, I'd peel 'em off again and check 'em out. Don't want to run out of coolant at an inopportune time.
