Ive been looking into the v8 swap and want it bad, but ran into a prob which is $$$. i only pay things in cash so i have to come up with like 9000 to do this swap. Its something like 6500 just for the kits and then you need to get eng. and rear. That would be too much money. Im in my senior year in highschool and i have a job working under 20hrs a week. Dont really have the time to earn 9000 in the time i need it. So now it was either turbo, supercharger, or what i think im going to go with is V6. This swap is 4000 installed with the engine and everything. Once i get it then i can get a turbo or supercharger rite away. What do you guys think about a v6 focus. The place i was talking to used a svt contour, but arent there better fwd Ford Manufactured engines you can use. Im thinking maybe the LS, taurus or even the falcon. What kinda eng. would you recommend. has to be fwd or id still be spending almost just as much as the v8?

 

The SVT contour motor is a great little motor. The taurus 3.0 Duratec is too big for the FWD focus chassis. The only reason a v-8 fits in there is because it's direction is changed. You could fit a v-6 in there np if you converted it to RWD

 

I think you should focus on school and college and wait until you're grown up, have a good paying job and can afford your toys.

 

im still in high school and i can afford my toys, kinda, i make about 500 a week.

umm... i really dont need a job...i only have it for mods and stuff for my car. btw i am focused on school i go to private school and everything.

What else am i suppose to do with my money? spend it on something worth something?
