No, It's not a spec chassis. It's a MkI chassis (#FFR1728K to be specific). It's had a bolt in 6 point cage with side bars installed by guyon in canada (1 3/4 DOM IIRC). Obviously, it's not everything I had in mind for the car I wanted to build, but it's also something I can drive NOW. For now, I'm thinking convert the front to 5 lug (i have all the parts), convert the rear to IRS 5 lug, toss some AFR 185's on it and it'll be really close to what I had wanted to build. Maybe do the rear frame mods to accomodate 315's.

It's a BLAST to drive.

Honestly, it's so light I don't know that it'd make a difference....

It's got some issues that need to be addressed and some that don't.

-The brakes are biased towards the right side (and a bit to the rear I think). They're also a bit soft for MY liking.
-It starts hard when it's warm. (Doesn't want to turn over-- i'm thinking starter).
-Power rack with no power steering. I'm thinking an electric rack out of an rx8 would be cool if the electronics can be adapted. Put a dial on the dash to control assist too.
-It's got funny lurch to the right when you go hard on throttle and a lurch back to the left when you come off.
-The bodywork and paint are rough. (Pictures don't show that well) It's a 50/50 paintjob. It looks fine from 50ft at 50mph.
-The light for the fuel gauge has a loose wire, so it flickers out occasionally over large bumps.
-One of the hood latches is broken.
-The seats are the must awful shit I've ever sat in.
-It's not 5 lug.
-No IRS.
