Stang is making noise--I need advice
Hey all,
My mustang has a nasty rattle going on anytime I rev the car up. It is coming from the transmission on the drivers side. I even have it rattle when the rpm is low and the clutch isn't in. When I push the clutch in the noise goes away.
I climbed under my car and I believe the noise is coming from the bellhousing. I'm not sure what would cause the rattle I'm hearing but it has to do with the clutch.
Since I drive the car daily I don't want to yank the tranny just to find out that my problem is something I can't just go and buy at the parts store. So if any of you have had this noise or have a good idea of what would make a loud rattle inside the bellhousing then speak up please.
Thanks

Damn it sounds like I need a new t/o bearing.
My own damn fault for using the one that came with the clutch. I know napa sells the metal one and I should have just bought one instead of the plastic lined crap that spec sent with the clutch.
Thanks for the imput.

Throughtout bearing or the fork. I had one of the clips that holds the TO bearing to the fork broke in a T5 and the bearing was cocked at an angle and chewed up the bearing retainer, I'm sure that made a noise (in the parts car).
I'd put money on the TO bearing though since those plastic ones are notorious for going bad.
