Default clutch slippage

I still have the stock clutch in my 90gt...i bought the car absolutly 100% stock and ive done a few bolt ons to add some ponies. now when i hammer it threw gears my clutch slips like a mother. Its alright for normal driving, but thats no fun so its time for a new clutch. IM new to this..ive never pulled a tranny/ bellhousing before.. so i need every ounce of info i can get cuz im gonna try and tackel this one on my own. Also king cobra clutch a good clutch? or should i go with a spec. Clutch quadrent? My end plans are about 260hp on the motor and spayin it. so ill bee something that can hold up to the 350 hp range.

thanks in advanced

david

My brother is making about 340/450 torque on the juice with a king cobra and no slippage.

I'm going to go with a spec stage 2 or 3 in a few weeks as I plan on making 400-425 and lots more torque. Any aftermarket clutch quadrant will do fine.

I have the Steeda adjustable quadrant and I have no complaints. It is a good quality piece.

I know that Cody (herecomestrouble) had problems with his King Cobra at 350rwhp. He said that is all it can take. I am still doing good with my KC at 330rwhp and another 75 on spray, however, I don't hit the spray from the launch. Might make a difference if I did that on slicks...
I do not have a lot of good things to say about my spec clutch. This is what happened to me in less than 10K miles....

shouldnt be that hard. I pulled and replaced 2 in my stang. It was fairly easy after the first 1. I did mine with jack stands and no tranny jack. Might as well have the flywheel resurfaced while its apart. LMK man if you need some help

It does suck in the driveway, but it can be done.

Actually, the flywheel side was perfect, that was the pressure plate side. Spec said that I got a mismatched disc and pp .
