New Best Time At The Track Today

Well I finally did it today, one run (the last one) I stood on the gas all the way to the other end even though it still goes on the rev limiter @ 6,200 at about 900 ft.. Let me tell you it was not fun doing this because that last 400 ft on the limter seemed like it went in slow motion as it popped and banged. All the while I am praying it holds together because it was violent and was deaccelerating quickly. Turns out I blew a tranny line and valve cover gasket while making this hail mary pass. First carnage at the track in all of the 14 years I have been taking it.
To answer the question no, the re-do on the torque converter did not change a thing but that is a different story for a different day.
Anyway here are the first three runs with explanations.

These runs are in the order I ran them.
The first two had bad wheel spin mostly due to I was one of the first few down the track and it had not started to bite yet.
The first run I stayed in it a little longer because it spun so bad therefore that is why the e.t. is a little lower and the mph is higher.
The next two were letting off completely and braking after the 1/8th mile so I could make the second turn-off.
The 1/8th m.p.h. picked up nicely on these runs because it was pretty nice out and the humidity had not set in yet. That changed later in the day.

And here is the new best @ 14 lbs. of boost and pump gas as usual.
It took some serious talking to myself to stay in it the whole way knowing it could go boom.
Went on the rev limiter a few car lengths before the 1000 ft. box so in other words I spent about the last 400ft. on the limter.
I could really notice it loosing m.p.h. quickly almost like I was suddenly draggging the brakes but I wasn't. This was the first time I have ever experienced this weird sensation.
The 1/8th e.t. and definitley the m.p.h. dropped way off. My guess is because the first runs were early and it was not to hot out. This run was at about 12:30 and it was ugly out.
Very pleased with how it did and really think it can get in the 9.9x range with maybe just another pound or two of boost. But that test might never happen now that Fulco is just about ready to start my motor and he needs the heads. Also a different converter to help get me to the other end will take 10 days to get here so I might miss my window. Oh well, can't have your cake and eat it too.
Not to shabby in my book for a 14 year old factory 302.

1.5 seconds and 14 m.p.h. but keep in mind with the right converter it is probably closer to 2 seonds and 20 m.p.h..
And I have spent about $4k on all of the turbo stuff.
Quite the bargin these days if you ask me.
Why do you ask ?
BAH!!!!
your slow i say, SLOW!!!
jfwy, nice times. i cant wait to see what the new E.T's will be when you get the gears and tires size's right so you can stay in the throttle the whole way down the track.

Actually I stayed in it the whole time on the last run just was popping and banging on the limiter the last 400 or so feet.

Thanks for the compliment.
Scott dont blow your shit up to prove a point to your self. Almost all cars that blow up, blow up in the last 250 feet of the track. If the car wont go 1320 dont take it 1320. My ride has only gone 400 feet so far under load. Get it right and then run it. Sucks to see the guts of your motor on the track and have to here "Tower side will be shut down all night", I have heard that before (My bad). Is the R-Block in. Looks like you have a 9 second ride on your hands. Have you thought of running alcohol injection or water injection. I think that pump gas is gunna melt your motor
.
All in all, nice runs and keep em coming when you get the converter right, or move the limiter up (if the motor can take it).

Move the limited up to about 7k, you'll probably go through the traps lower than that (probably 6700 or so) which the motor should be able to handle without issue. First thing to go on a stock 302 will be the valve springs, you obviously don't have those on any more so I'd let it ride @ 7k.
