Default ecu mod/chipping

ok your going to say WHY? but read the whole post first and you'll understand.

I want to either chip or set up the ecu for rom editing.

my gf has a 01' zx2 and when cold weather hits it has a really rough idle, it is ok in the summertime. it doesn't matter whether or not the car is cold or has been running for an hour it idles rough. so I am thinking ecu is not giving enough fuel( injector duty cycle, or psi) to let it idle smooth based on the sensor reading from the AIT.

so I wanted to pop open the ecu and set it up so that I can edit the rom and increase the injector pulse at idle or something to that effect. I have a willem eprom burner, but don't know of a cheap/free ecu editor for fords. thanks for the help
