Car shuts oFF?????
Ok well before I tell you my probblem I think its either relay or fuel pump.
I will drive down the road and when the car gets to hot running temp about 190 5-10 mins of driving IT SHUTS OFF!!!! no sputter just completly shuts off no warning NOTHIN!!! cant put it and 2nd and try to jump start it.... SOOO I pull over let it cool off and it starts up? I also try to turn the key after it shuts off and I cant hear the fuel pump! SOOO from me dynoing my car with 15.1+++ af readings and 22psi of pressure wide open throttle I am guessing fuel pump?

I think he means the TFI module on the distributor. I think. Does it have a hard start in the morning Or over long period of time? i would think maybe the relay has a short in it, when it gets hot maybe it starts to go ape shit. Kinda like my relay for my fan, it would get so damn hot it just would stop working the next day it was working again.

Without the EEC seeing the engine move (via the TFI and PIP in the distributor), it will not keep the fuel pump on. Now if you just turn the key on (not start) and let it sit you should hear the pump, but if its a stock pump and a full tank, you might not hear it in the car.
Is it the cougar? Just a guess, do you have a MSD box?
I had the same problem where my car would just shut off while driving. It usually did it once it warmed up and would sometimes start once it cooled down, but then finally that was it. I had to coast off the road a few times doing 45 when it would shut off, not fun. I have a mech. fuel pump though and a MSD dist. It ended up being the MSD 6al box. If your fuel pump is wired to the ignition and the box is bad it wouldn't turn on either right?

Another bump for TFI module... gets hot shuts off... cools off starts back up... If its a fuel problems the car will surge and buck and act like its running out of gas.... just my .02
