Yeah it's pretty healthy but adding 400 ft lbs of tq with the turbo vs 200 with the blower is gonna be the difference of at least 1 second in the 1/4 mile with the same amount of boost. If you're gonna spend that kind of money and don't get a turbo, IMHO you're wasting your hard earned money. You gotta understand, we built my car first and thats what he's comparing it too.

Just don't floor it in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd and you should be ok.

If thats all you're looking for, you might want to consider a nice head/cam/intake combo. It will be less maintanance over the blower. Theres alot of h/c/i combos that will make 400+ at the flywheel with a stock shortblock. If you don't want to flycut the pistons you could run a set of Twisted wedge heads, .500 lift cam, and Systemax intake to make about 375 flywheel which would be about 320 to the wheels.

What is the difference in price between your 10lb turbo setup and the 16lb blower setup? What kind of problems are associated with the blower that aren't with the turbo? I understand that turbos are more efficient, but horsepower is horsepower, won't you break shit either way?

I don't have a 10 lb turbo setup. I have a what every lb I feel like that day setup. I was just saying his car feels like mine when I set the boost controller to 10 lbs. When you have a turbo you can set the boost to what ever you feel like. With a blower you have to change pulleys to change boost level. I've had it up to 16 lbs so far. And they where the same price. Maybe you missed it but my car makes almost 200 more ft lbs of tq than his at the same boost level (16). If you're worried about breaking stuff get the blower because your car will be slower.

Not necesarily .. still putting a lot of stress on the internals with less power because of efficiency with an s/c.

Turbo seems to be the only way to go now a days for every application.
