I just picked up a pro 5.0 shifter from vince and im having alot of trouble getting the old shifter off. I have all 4 bolts off and i cant get the old shifter off the tranny. I stood on both seats and pulled as hard as i could and the damn thing isnt going ne where. Is there a easier way to get it off? and what should i make sure i do before i put the pro5.0 on.

A screw drive placed on the top of the base and good smack with a hammer always works!

Just make sure to put a nice bead of RTV around the base and then just tighten the bolts back down.

 

Go from the under side of the car and put a flathead screwdriver under the lip of the base and hit it with a hammer, or just kick it with your foot.

i got it. I took the shifter handle off and stuck a crow bar and pryd that biatch off shifter is awesome!.. just need some getting use to, my first short throw shiftered car ive ever driven
