cams for the 4.6L DOHC
what cams are good for a 4.6l DOHC ?? would they need to be custom grinded or what not? and what will i be looking to spend on cams,springs,etc all together?

You can get regrinds for alittle cheaper. But depends on the setup you want to the type of cams/specs. Check Houston Performance, Mod Max, Comp Cams( I believe has mod motor cams), or Leverious(sp?) Motorsports for pricing. A 4v is a bit expensive for cams since not the demand isn't as high and you have to buy 4.

Check out the Crower/JDMs, I have their cams. You can expect to pay $1500 or so with springs and retainers.
Give JDM in NJ a call. Ask for Anthony, they have their own grinds that are made by Crower. 732-780-0770. A Crower/JDM cammed 03 Cobra has gone 9.40s with no spray.
If you can wait a little while, Lunati and Jesel have some interesting things coming out like rifle drilled cams and roller followers.

im going n/a maybe some spray a while down the road but not going to be boosted... thanks for all of the info but im looking to moderately mod the cobra i have without going after the pistons/rods etc. then maybe later i will change those.

the 4.6L cams are expensive as fukk, so dont be surprised when you spend almost 2k just on a good set-up on your stock heads. but you will see good power gains with a good mild cam from crower/crane. ive seen some 4v motors make almost 50rwhp with a cam and spring swap.

n e ways... should i remoe them? is there a proper way to remove them or what not? b/c i think alot of that emission shit is electrical

well, im guessing you talking about removing your catalatic converters? it very simple and easy to do, either find a back woods exhaust shop to cut off the cats and weld in a piece of pipe, or buy yourself an off road H-pipe or X-pipe. after you purchase the pipe buy what is called MIL eliminators, pretty much any speed shop in the area will have them in stock or order them off of www.uprproducts.com, they have a nice set-up that you just plug into you stock harness and its ready to go. after you get the pipe on you put the MIL eliminators in between you O2 sensors on the mid-pipe and the factory plug on the harness. its really simple, you have any more ?'s just ask.

no... the cats are eliminated and an H-pipe with Mac exh to the rear. i was talking about like the elctronic emissions or what not... i know there has to be a smog pump somewhere behind the fenders or what have you... am i making n e sense? id like to remove n e thing that has to do with emission control. im new to the cobra scene but i do know alot about mechanics yet knowledge is limited when speaking of electronics.
the MIL eliminators... what exactly do they do? fool the ecu to believe the engine has cat's? i have yet to sit underneath the car and look for simple things such as that ..... i bought a steeda clutch cable double hook adjuster i believe its called because with the upgraded clutch and short shifter shifts are acting wacky... n e ways im all off topic pm me or something maybe we can meet up on friday or saturday and and you can bring me up to speed on these DOHC engines. thanks again

yeah, the MILeliminators just fool the ECU into thinking the cats are there and also elminate the "Service Engine Soon" light on your dash.
as for a smog pump, i think only cars sold in California come with them installed. i may be wrong but someone else may know.
