well, its official
thanks to hurricane francis, the drivers side of my car got destroyed. prolly close to 20,000 scratches on it.
of course the insurance company thinks i can only paint half the car and have it look just as good as it did before. its not going to happen
but working at a dealership has its perks. i work at Ferman BMW and we have the inside story on paint guys, and happen to work with a few.
i got the phone number to the guy that paints all the cars for Classic Corvettes in tarpon if anyone is familiar with the place. they sell old vettes and other muscle cars, all show quality paint jobs. it just so happens i work with his best friend and the guy that sends him side jobs.
to make a long story short, im getting my whole car painted for a awesome deal (below 2 grand def). i wont say how much yet, but im going to talk to the guy and ask him how much work he wants. because i know there are a bunch of you who want things done. if its small things, a guy at my work does knicks and scratcheson the BMW's, and you can tell where it began or ended. this guy will do the same, but will also tackle a whole car.
im going to help him out by pulling off everything like my headlights, taillights, weather stripping, guages, mirrors, etc to show im helping him out. im also going ot pull the door panels and the carpet back so he can hit my door jambs really quick.
he needs cars for a MINIMUM of 2 weeks. you dont want ot rush him of course. he has a booth at his house where he will do the cars if he wants more work. ill be able to let you guys know by the end of the week next week.
we already have maybe 2 more mustangs lined up, guaranteed 1.
ill let you know the quality of the job, im not doubting anything. ive seen his work, and its top notch. but some of us ford guys are exceptionaly anal about our cars and dont leave things 10 diff colors like the ricers do, lol
the only part thats going to suck is im selling the car, and now i wont want to with brand new paint. but its an extra selling perk. so if anyone is interested in a clean ass gt with brand new paint, weatherstripping and mechanic maintained, let me know
ill keep you posted

no, its just that the jambs are really a diff kind of black that really doesnt match the exterior. besides, the jambs are scratched to shit for some reason, especially on the passenger side. my guess is a previous owner's gf had some wicked high heels or some shit, because the scratches are all along the bottom, right near the weatherstripping

This guy sounds expensive, what is his cost? There is already another TR member that does it for 700.00 with a color change, door jambs, and engine bay, and everyone already knows he does great work. If he can match 700 and do the same work, he would be considered but till them Randy, TR member "sebastian" is getting my stang to paint.

yeah, no shit.
i would be pretty suspicious of that deal. all that work for only 600 dollars. that is an easy 3 to maybe even 4 grand for a job like Big Bad Buick said.
