speedometer problem..
well i recently bought my mustang...and as far as i knew all the last owner did was put flowmaster exhaust and 17 inch cobra wheels on the pony. well, the speedometer is like 15 mph over what i'm really going, so i took it into ford for them to look at.
they looked around and it turns out the last owner put 4.10 gears in, and that they tried to recalibrate it but only got it 4mph closer..so now its 11mph over. any ideas on where to take it to get it recalibrated...if i even can?
a friend of mine also told me that puts extra miles on the odo...

Yeah, it makes the odo read faster. I believe for the newer cars, you can get a box that you put your tire diameter and gear ratio into and it intercepts and modifies the speedo signal so it reads correctly.
Another option, if you plan on modding it, is to take it to Coastal and get with Sam on a programmer of some sort. It can adjust the speedo now, and let you tune her up later. There's probably even some horsepower in it now with the right program.

dallas mustang or steeda make a speedo recal. or buy a programmer and you can change it that way

ok sweet...yea i'll probably end up taking it to coastal and have them program it in right so i get the most outta all the shit. thanks guys

James just did a mustang the other day with a speedo problem. So if you check with him, while its fresh in his mind you should be in and out.
