Default 98 cobra question

how much power did the 98 svt cobras have?
i raced one in my old car (auto 99 gt) and he pulled VERY slowly on me, i was wondering if they had shitty power or if he was just a horrible driver

Right at 300hp,from a dig I used to kick the shit out of them. From a roll they should pull on you, unless it was a shitty driver.

lol flowmasters, like just the mufflers (for now) but he had o/r h-pipes with no cats, flowmasters and 3 inch piping.. from a dig he pulled very slowly, like we hit 90 and my front was around his door. and from a roll he did pull a little bit quicker but he also got the j ump since mine was automatic

305hp/300tq from the factory. Sounds like the guy didn't want to rev the car. I've found that alot of people shift too low with these 4v's. Out of the box they are high 13's. -Mark

Isn't that one of the years that the cobra didn't perform up to spec because of rough metal casting issues in the manifold and ports?
