Solid axle swap,need help
Hey guys,I was wondering if I could use a MarkVIII disk rear for the swap?It is wider than the fox rear by 1.5 inch.Anyone know the width of the 99 and up compared to the fox? This shit has got me confused and I really don't want to spend $750 for a new housing that I'm just gonna cut shorter anyway to put c-clip eliminators in.Thanks for your help.

All the 8.8 housings are the same width (talking cars, Rangers and Explorers are different). The difference in width is in the axles. The Mark 7 (not
is .75" longer per side than a fox. I believe the SN95 was also .75" longer than a fox, and appearantly in the 99up cars, its even wider.
Yeah, but you have a fox, right? So it seems that the Mark VII(thanks Fordified)rear is the same width as the 96-98 mustang?

The Mark 7's usually came with a 3.23 rear gear too, but that mod motor's gonna need much more than that.
If the rear is still in the car, take a hack saw or sawzall with you to cut the air bag bladders. Its much easier to cut them in half and pull the rear, than to unbolt them.

Thanks but the rear is out allready, and I won't be using the 4 valve.By the way,I love your car bro!
