Default Solid axle swap,need help

Hey guys,I was wondering if I could use a MarkVIII disk rear for the swap?It is wider than the fox rear by 1.5 inch.Anyone know the width of the 99 and up compared to the fox? This shit has got me confused and I really don't want to spend $750 for a new housing that I'm just gonna cut shorter anyway to put c-clip eliminators in.Thanks for your help.

umm 96 is 3/4 shorter on each side, so how much shorter is a fox than that?

I have been running a Mark VII rear in my car for years, as long as you have rims w/ the right offset it fits fine.

Yeah, but you have a fox, right? So it seems that the Mark VII(thanks Fordified)rear is the same width as the 96-98 mustang?
